PokerBrain includes very powerful reporting capabilities. We include many pre-defined reports and dashboards, and professional edition users are able to create their own custom reports, favorite reports, and dashboards.

A report in PokerBrain is a chart that displays results-oriented data. A report also includes the data behind the chart in tabular format.

The reports that come with PokerBrain help you analyze your performance and track your progress throughout your playing career.

Most reports have a built in set of default session filtering criteria, which is loaded when you select the report to run. A powerful feature of PokerBrain is the ability to alter the filtering on the fly. For example, you can filter out certain stakes or locations, or you could change the date range for the report. You can then refresh the chart, and it will very quickly display the report with your new filtering settings.

  • Profit summary: Total profit over time and 10- and 25-session moving averages (like a stock chart)
  • Tournament summary: Cash percentage, win percentage, and investment return
  • Profit broken down by stakes
  • Profit broken down by games played
  • Monthly and yearly profit reports
  • Profit broken down by number of hours played
  • Hourly rate reports showing hourly profit in bets per hour and dollars per hour
  • Standard deviation of profit analysis
  • Tournament field success: What percentage of the tournament field do you beat?
  • Tournament success by buy-in: Which tournaments are your best ($1000 or $100, for example)?
  • Tournament success by number of entrants
  • Additional reports also included

Dashboards display a collection of four charts all on one screen. PokerBrain comes with several pre-defined dashboards. Each of the pre-defined dashboards displays several charts that are related by time period.

Users of the professional edition may create their own dashboards. Dashboards do not have to be organized by time period as the pre-defined ones are. You could create a Hold ‘Em dashboard, for example, that displays several charts that are filtered for Hold ‘Em games only. Or you could create dashboards for different stakes or locations.

PokerBrain Professional allows you to create your own calculations (custom reporting columns) for use in custom reports. Custom reporting columns are additional user-defined columns that can be added to the pre-defined reports or used in new reports you create in the professional edition.

There are many reasons why you might want to create your own calculations. For example, if you are storing information in your custom ranking categories, you might like to run calculations based on those values. You might, for example, store the number of hours of sleep you got the night before the session. Then you could create a set of calculations that would allow you to see your total profit broken down by the number of hours of sleep, or your average profit for a given number of hours of sleep.

As another example, suppose you keep track of the amount of money you pay to the rake each session. You could then display running totals of your cost of playing, or create gross profit calculations such as averages and standard deviations. Since PokerBrain does not keep track of the rake, all the profit reports are based on your net profit, but if you store the rake amounts as a custom ranking category, you could duplicate all those reports based on gross profit. These kinds of calculations would give you a good feel for how the rake is affecting your profit in your game.

Even if you do not use very many custom ranking categories, you might want to modify or extend some of the pre-built reporting columns provided by PokerBrain. For example, where PokerBrain may use a 25-session moving average, you might want to create new calculations that use shorter and/or longer moving averages.

All these custom types of calculation are possible in PokerBrain Professional.

PokerBrain Professional also allows you to create your own reports and chart your results in all sorts of different ways. You can use your custom reporting columns and your custom ranking categories in reports. You can plot pie charts, line charts, bar charts, and combinations of these types of charts. You can also create histogram charts, summary reports, and perform three-dimensional analysis. Many powerful reporting options are available to you, and you can view your data in almost any way you need to get the best insight into your performance at the poker tables.
